Resource efficiency
We manage environmental risk through efficient use of energy, water and natural resources.
Sustainability is not an addendum to how Ritluka operates, it is a core business principle embedded in our operational planning, service delivery and management decision making. We accept full accountability for the environmental, social and governance impacts of our operations and are committed to preventing harm to people, communities and the environment across the full mine life cycle, from exploration through to closure and post closure.
Our ESG framework is aligned with national legislation, licence conditions and recognised international standards, including the IFC Performance Standards on Environmental and Social Sustainability, IFRS S1 and S2, ILO Conventions, OECD Due Diligence Guidance, GRI Standards, ISO 14001, and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
Where legal, regulatory, client or financing requirements are more stringent, those requirements take precedence.
We manage environmental risk through efficient use of energy, water and natural resources.
We apply responsible water stewardship in water stressed areas across our operations.
We maintain disciplined management of waste, hazardous materials and tailings in line with recognised international practice.
Our approach extends to responsible land use, rehabilitation, closure planning and consideration of climate related risks across our operations.
The health and safety of our employees and contractors is protected through risk based management systems and ongoing training. We respect internationally recognised human rights and apply a strict prohibition on child labour, forced labour and discrimination. We engage transparently with affected communities, support local economic participation through employment, skills development and local procurement, and maintain accessible grievance mechanisms for workers and stakeholders.
Ritluka operates with transparency and a zero tolerance approach to bribery, corruption and unethical conduct. Accountability for sustainability performance sits within our executive management structure, with oversight from our Advisory Board, and we allocate the financial and human resources necessary to implement our commitments in full.
We identify, assess and manage ESG risk in a structured, risk based manner across the full project and service life cycle, applying the mitigation hierarchy of avoid, minimise, mitigate, compensate or offset where relevant. Risk controls are integrated directly into our operational planning and management systems, not treated as a separate compliance exercise.
We monitor and document our sustainability performance through defined indicators, periodic audits and management reviews, and report outcomes to clients, regulators, financiers and other stakeholders as required. This policy is reviewed periodically to remain aligned with evolving regulation, international standards and our business activities.
Ritluka's Sustainability Policy applies to every employee, contractor, supplier and business partner acting on our behalf, and is incorporated into our contractual arrangements to ensure our clients' ESG and financing requirements are met at every site.
